7 AM: Get up and make this lemon anise slush I talked about here. To sum it up, it was mind blowing!

8 AM: Daily dose of inspiration, how much do you love those zipper earrings?!

10 AM: Back from the store with a moccasin making kit!

11 AM: Give Ginger a much needed bath! She looks so scruffy!

12 PM: Have the most amazing tea ever! You get this ball and you add hot water then it opens up into this pretty flower! Plus it tastes SO good! I'm still in aw.

1 PM: More inspiration, goal setting and to do list making! I totally love this part of my day!

2 PM: Take a few self portraits for the sidebar! →

3 PM: Attempt to make rock candy. Key word attempt! Haha the whole glass just turned into solid sugar, making it super hard to clean!

That's what my day looked like yesterday! :) It was a very productive day (my favorite kind), but most days definitely don't look like this or I'm pretty sure I'd be flat out exhausted all the time!

DIY // Scented Sugar Body Scrub

Hi friends! Today I'm going to teach you how to make this sugar body scrub! I personally think it makes a great gift! I usually use it when I have chapped lips and a just rub a bit on to exfoliate!

step one: mix your oil and sugar

step two: mix in your food coloring and oil. The oil will really be "to taste" depending on how strong you want it to smell!

step three: put it in a cute jar and save it or gift it! :)

I've hopped on the vegetarian train! Although, it was never much of a train! But anyways, I'm vegetarian and have been for almost two weeks now! DIY // TWO Ingredient Ice Cream!

Hello dear friends! Okay so I want you to do one thing. Forget everything you've ever known about ice cream. Okay not everything but just the fact that is unhealthy, makes you feel slightly guilty when eating it and that it has dairy. Do this and in turn I will give you a guilt-free ice cream recipe that has only TWO ingredients and is super healthy! Plus it has the rich delicious texture of gelato! Oh my gosh, I could say so many more lovely things about this!

*p.s. 2 bananas make about one big serving!

*p.s. try to get most air out of the bag to prevent browning!

How freaking awesome was that? Seriously you need to try it! You could even add like chocolate syrup, or better yet, nutella!

Happy Monday sweet ones! We got more snow, which was kind of sad but also makes a great crisp backdrop for some colorful outfits! Like most of my outfits, it is 100% thrifted. Gosh I love thrifting! I was kind of surprised by just how much I love this outfit, especially since its so bright, but I do, I love it! So many pretty colors!

DIY // Hanging Hats

I think pretty ways to display some of your collections is darling and gives your house a very personal touch! Today we're hanging hats, and boy oh boy do they look pretty all hung up on the wall! Hope Sunday was lovely!

One: I didnt need to do this for every hat, but the ones that wont stay on the push pin by itself. Stitch a bit of thread through a thin layer of your hat and tie it to make a loop. This will give your push pin something to hook onto!

Two: Arrange your hats in the order you want them to go, figure out where your push pins are going to go. Push them in and hang all of your oh so pretty hats!

Voila! Easy peasy right?!

DIY // Wire Heart Ring ♡

Hello lovelies! :) I had a blast making these totally cute heart rings that are absolutely perfect for Valentines, which is only two days away! Anyways, I hope you love this as much as I do!

ONE: Cut a piece of wire about 5-6 inches depending on the size of your finger.

TWO: Bend the wire to make a V

THREE: Then using your pliers bend a nice curve on both sides

FOUR: Criss Cross

FIVE: Curve each piece to the back and loop each end for a nice finish

These would make such cute presents! I know I'd love to get an adorable handmade ring!

What I'm Wearing // Embrace the Wild.

So I had this what I thought was a great idea of curling my hair the night before using this method. But come morning I woke up with a frizzy hair that reminded me of those clown wigs. Yea, it was bad. So I decided to just roll with it!

This jacket has so many cute details on it and is actually one of my favorite pieces to wear. Despite it being my moms! She thrifted it a couple of years ago with the intention of doing the whole "Sisterhood of the travelling pants" type thing but with a jacket! How cute right? I'm so glad I get to wear it now!

Hello! I'm back, with yet another polymer clay tutorial! Can you tell I love this stuff? :) Today we're making little kiwi rolls, that you can cut and turn into so many things! I'm turning mine into cute little earrings! What other ideas do you think I could turn them into? Ready, set, DIY!

Bubble Tea 3 Ways♡

Hi there! If you asked me right now in this very moment what my favorite drink is, it would most definitely be a close tie between green tea and bubble tea, although I think bubble wins! I've been getting bubble tea for a few years and pretty much fell in love with it right away especially because its so fun to eat! I thought it would be super hard and complicated to make, but its really not! Here's how I make it, three different ways!

The tapioca pearls are probably what makes it appear so hard to make because their not your everyday ingredient! That's okay, just go to your nearest oriental supermarket and pick up some jumbo pearls!

STEP ONE: make your chai tea really strong so the flavours still there when you add the ice and milk. Then add your sugar to the tea and let dissolve. STEP TWO: mix around equal parts of ice, coconut milk and chai tea. STEP THREE: blend 'er all up! STEP FOUR: add bubbles to bottom of glass and pour mixture in!

STEP ONE: chop up banana and pineapple, making sure not to get the coarse bits of the pineapple. STEP TWO: add around equal parts on milk, ice and fruit to your blender. STEP THREE: blend 'er up STEP FOUR: add bubbles to bottom of glass, pour in mixture and enjoy!

*the matcha can also be found at oriental supermarkets! It has a lovely earthy taste and is great in smoothies with a few pieces of strawberries!

STEP ONE: make a matcha paste by adding a tablespoon of matcha powder to milk until it creates a thick paste. STEP TWO: add the paste, brown sugar and equal parts of ice and milk to the blender. STEP THREE: blend it all together. STEP FOUR: add bubbles to bottom of glass and pour in mixture and enjoy! mmm

*I'd have to say this one is my favourite bubble tea!

Cashew Chicken // Guest Blog from The Letter 4

Hey there! My name is Jade and I blog over at The Letter 4 with my three other sisters Juliann, Janae, and Jamie. We are 4 sisters that grew up very close to one another. Now we have since all grown up and moved away and we miss the 3:00 am laughing, the projects we did together, stealing each others clothes, and everything that goes along with growing up with sisters.

Our blog has been our way to connect to each other again and share projects with each other. Each sister has a unique taste and talent but we all have a passion for creating beautiful things!

This recipe has some dear memories that go along with it. When we moved to Maryland, we left some wonderful friends back in Utah (who we miss so much!) and this is a recipe we had first at their home, and it has stayed with us since. This is my go to recipe when I don't know what to put on the menu. I am usually always in the mood for this. I LOVE the flavors and textures in this meal!

Ingredients

3 chicken breasts, or 4 boneless thighs 1/2 cup cashews

1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced

1/2 lb. snow peas 4 green onions, chopped 1 small can bamboo shoots, rinsed and drained 1 cup chicken broth 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 Tbsp cornstarch 1/2 tsp brown sugar 1/2 tsp salt oil RECIPE: Cut chicken into 1" pieces. Whisk together soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and salt. Heat oil in skillet on medium heat and add nuts to the pan. Stir fry for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add chicken until cooked through. Add peas, mushrooms, chicken broth, and soy sauce mixture. Cook until it boils and thickens, stirring constantly. Add green onions and serve over rice. ENJOY!

Hanging Doilies // DIY

hello, hello, hello! I recently picked up these cute and colorful doilies for like a buck, and I knew right away I wanted to make this DIY! So here it is, a very cute and easy way to hang doilies!

*you'll also need clear thread for the hanging part

My glue was fairly thick, so I watered it down to make it easier to work with!

Doilies are so pretty, and just imagine all the cute little grandmas crocheting away! :) haha

DIY // Heatless Curls

I've come to the rather unfortunate conclusion that either my hair doesn't like to be curled, or I'm just terrible at using a curling iron. Either way its no fun! But have no fear, Lauren is here (I've always wanted to say that!) :) This method of curling was a happy accident and is the best heatless way to curl your hair I've ever used! you can see what it looks like in this post! Ready, Set, GO!

step one: take a strand of hair. depending on the thickness of your hair you may need to make it fairly thin! step two: With your other hand, wrap that strand around three or four of your fingers, depending on how big and loose you want the curls. step three & four: Grab the loop and lay it on your head, securing it with a bobby pin. keep doing that over and over until you get a whole head of loops. Don't worry if you pin some loops on top of each other!

Your head will look like this! step five: sleep! then unpin in the morning!

Healthiest Snack // Steamed Vegetable Salad

This is currently my favourite thing to eat right now because its so healthy and really tasty and lets face it, after the holidays I need to eat healthy! So here it is, my current favorite snack that I eat on a daily basis!

*the measurements aren't exact so you may need to play around with it to see what suits your taste buds! I usually just put a splash of everything and hope for the best!

one steam vegetables of your choice, I like broccoli and cauliflower the best! two mix up dressing. three add avocado. four add dressing. five stir it up and enjoy!

What I'm Wearing // Bleached Pants

Do you guys ever go crazy and just organize everything? Well I do and this time I found my bleached pants, which I don't think I've ever shown you! So, this is the outfit I wore a few days ago when I was feeling very casual but still wanted to look nice! The bleach pants give it a very special POP! It's fun looking for shapes on your pants, kind of like clouds!

*curling irons arent too fond of me so I have to get creative with curling my hair! Best method so far!

I bleached my jeans by gathering parts and tying with rubber bands, then splashing jeans with straight bleach, but there are many ways to do it!

Orange Cranberry Holiday Milkshake

Good morning everyone! How's everyone doing? I hope you all had a terrific Christmas! Mine was full of games, family and WAY too much food! This morning I had a craving for a Christmas smoothie (which eventually turned into a milkshake) so I used all the Christmasy sweet foods in my fridge and came up with this really delicious milkshake!

About a handful of each! You may also need some milk, if its too thick! Also, fresh squeezed orange juice is the best!

I love how the cranberries turn it a pretty candy cane pink color! :) Is that totally weird that I would be so excited about the color of a milkshake? If it is, I cant help it!

Yum! What kind of Christmasy food have you had? I'd love it if you'd share your favorite recipe! :)

The first being that I am totally in love with Ben Howard and the second being, I've got a bit of a sweater obsession, more of a collection really, which I thought I'd share with you! Whenever I go thrifting I head straight to the sweater isle, its also usually where the best deals are, not to many seem to buy sweater! crazy if you ask me!

A short story (haha thats punny!): So over the summer I bought these high waisted shorts that I had been wanting for a long, long time and I love them, I just haven't worn them, and after discovering lookbook (so much inspiration!) I decided I would wear them! So this is the outfit I wore on the weekend! It's not really all that "wintery" but I just had to wear them before it got WAY too cold!

So this is like a little mini DIY that I came up with a few days ago! I absolutely love glitter nailpolish and I'm just about out of my favourite glitter nailpolish so I wanted to make some of my own. Turns out its really easy and takes only three ingredients!

*I used an old bottle of clear polish that I had!

*how much glitter you pour in is totally up to you!

So I'd say it turned out pretty good, the only downside being that it separates so you have to give it a good shake every time you use it! Pretty none the less!

A Trip to the Farm // along with an Outfit!

Today I went to an outdoor Christmas gathering at a farm with ponies, hot chocolate, goats, cookies and good Christmas music! I had a blast, especially because having a farm has always been a bit of a dream of mine! Plus the animals are so darn cute!

#1 rule of Christmas: you are never to old to sit on Santa's lap!

Feeding the goats was definitely my favorite part, they're so oddly cute and funny looking!

Hands down Christmas is the busiest time for a crafter, which is also what makes it so lovely, SO much crafting!! So instead of going out to buy Christmas paper, make your own unique wrapping paper, with that handmade touch we all love! I like to make my Christmas paper fairly early that way I know its always on hand!

*you can also use a sharpie to outline your designs

I think its just so pretty and simple! Just imagine all the patterns you could make, little santa hats, elf booties, presents, snowflakes!

Before we get to the answers I want to just thank everyone for all the questions! :)

For me, I've always found that the best way to bring traffic to your blog and essentially gain followers is to take interest in other people! I love discovering new blogs and leaving comments, it shows you like what they are doing, and usually they will click on your profile and check out your blog! The other way is to sponsor other blogs who have similar readers. But I still find the best way is through discovering other blogs!

I got sponsors by deciding that my blog had grown enough to introduce sponsoring to The Perfect Pear! Of course, there are no set rules as to when your "aloud" or "should" have a sponsorship program on your blog, it really depends on you and your blog!

For different blogs giveaways comes with the purchase of an ad space! So they buy a sponsor spot and they have the option to do a giveaway on my blog to gain more readers! Plus, who doesn't love free stuff!

Gosh, I love so many things, and hate very few! I love things like cameras, the perfect cup of tea, canned peaches, paper snowflakes, vintage brooches, cookies! You know the good stuff! I cant really think of anything I hate, other than (this is kind of gross) when you find like huge pieces of fat in your steak and stuff, but you probably didnt want to know that!

I blog because I love it. It has become such a huge part of my life, and I just love sharing DIY's with my readers. The feeling of teaching people new things each week makes me feel just warm and fuzzy inside! Plus I'm an unbelievably crafty lady so it helps me stay inspired and full of ideas! love.

I first started off using picnik, which was great, and I often still use it, its a great tool for beginners! But now I've been using photoshop more and more and its becoming less scary!

I'm a proud Nikon D5000 owner!

That's a hard one, because I used to watch movies a lot! But I'd have to say it would be Air Bud, I loved any movies with animals in them, plus all the Disney movies were too scary for me! (crazy I know!)

Lighting! I would say definitely shoot near a window or outside is even better! (I secretly hate flash!) I also suggest looking at photos from different perspectives, look at the tiny details, and the things that make something special and unique!

To be honest, not really! It was my first time so I went with a wash out dye, so if things went bad I knew it would come out eventually, but if it went really bad I could always get it professionally dyed back!

I get my inspiration from a WHOLE bunch of places, other bloggers, stores, pinterest etc... I also keep a journal with me pretty much at all times, so if I have an idea, even a crazy one I right it down and possibly use it later!

A movie actually made me start blogging, Julie and Julia! Its about a girl who blogs and a fabulous lady who cooks! To make this story short, it inspired me, and voila, The Perfect Pear was born a few months later!

I would LOVE for blogging to be my full time job, I cant even tell you how much I would love that! But I would still love it just as much even if it was a hobby!

DIY: Old Sweater into New Leg Warmers!

As I'm sure we all know, winter is up on us whether you like it or not! So for this weeks DIY I wanted to combine my love for turning old things into new ones and as well as my love for fall / winter! The result? Some fabulously cute and warm leg warmers!

Also make sure to measure the length of your leg (how long you want your leg warmers) *Also add a few extra inches for seam allowance and so they aren't so tight!

You MUST sew with a zig zag stitch this prevents your material from fraying!

How-To: Buns 3 Ways

Buns are just about my all time favorite way to do my hair! I just think they're so cute and spunky all at once, sometimes they're the perfect touch to any outfit! I've gotten to be pretty good at them since I'll wear my hair in a bun at least twice a week. These are my three favorite ways!

One: start as is you were going to put your hair in a pony tail, but don't actually. Two: then start to make a pony and when you have a few tails at the end, twist your elastic and put it up in a bun. Three: pull strands of hair to make it messier. tuck any fly-aways back into the elastic.

One: put your hair on the very top of your head. Two: wrap your hair around your finger while still holding it with the rest of your fingers. Three: put the elastic on!

One: again, start by putting your hair up as if you were doing a pony tail. Two: bunch it up into a little "loop" type thing. Three: secure with your elastic. leave it like that or gently tug and pull a little for more volume!

Look What I Made // Galaxy Crop Top

A long, long time ago I made this galaxy crop top! It went well up until I decided to wash it, and loving galaxy shirt soooo much I was a little disappointed at how it looked after the wash. It was all faded (probably because I used acrylic paint) and crunchy! Oh well lesson learned, it sure looks pretty here.

I think its the first time I've done a "beauty" DIY and quite frankly, I love painting my nails! I've always loved a good at-home french manicure, I mean its just so classic! So here's a DIY to make your classic french manicure even more class with a touch of flare!
